Hello everyone! Today I am back with another blog post as well as some exciting news regarding my blog! I know I have been MIA on my blog for a long time and if you read my last blog post (linked HERE) then you might already know that I am busy with school, trying to focus on my YouTube channel, and I was in a rut for my blog. The exciting news is that I will be posting more on my blog thanks to a new project I have to do for my social media marketing class. Now I won’t go too much into depth on my project, but I want to inform you of this news so you can expect fresh new content on my blog every week.
Now let’s get into the actual blog post! Today I will be talking about my current favourite fashion trends that I am seeing all over social media specifically from the blogger community. Unfortunately, I do not own any of these fashion pieces in my wardrobe yet, but I definitely will be purchasing them in the coming weeks. I have compiled a quick list of items that are trendy and fashionable and I hope you enjoy!

1. Velvet Everything!
Velvet is a huge trend for Fall/Winter 2016/2017 and I love everything about it! My favorite velvet pieces have to be velvet sock booties and velvet shirts/dresses. Velvet is a wonderful fabric because it adds great texture to your outfit!
2. Uneven hem jeans/distressed hem jeans/ two-toned denim/mom jeans
I have been seeing this trend since this past fall and I can’t get enough of it! We all seem to be hanging onto the skinny jeans trend but eventually it won’t be the stylish look. Now don’t get me wrong I LOVE my skinny jeans but the mom jeans trend has definitely become my new obsession. The fit just gives your outfit a laid back casual feel. I am also obsessing over the two-toned denim and distressed uneven hem trend!
3. Fishnets
Now this trend might be a little too much for the average consumer (my friends and family definitely don’t like this trend) but for a fashion obsessed person like myself and many others I think this trend is awesome. The fishnets add texture to your outfit and look great under a pair of distressed denim for an edgy outfit, or a pair of loafers to give that casual chic look.
4. Loafers (Gucci)
Everybody (as in bloggers) and their mother seems to be rocking the Gucci loafers. I know I mentioned that I would be purchasing these items soon enough but let’s be honest these bad-boys won’t make it into my closet for one reason and one reason only: the price tag $$$. I’m your average broke college student who just dreams of owning a pair and buy the time I can afford them they will no longer be stylish. All jokes aside, I never expected myself to like this trend but surely enough after seeing countless photos on social media I caved and realized all the different ways you could wear them to fit your style. I am on the hunt to find myself a dupe and once I do I will certainly share it with you all!
5. Leopard Coat
Another trend I did not expect myself to love as much as I do is the leopard coat. Even though I love fashion and love to wear items that the average consumer may shy away from, I do still have those times where I shy away from certain fashion trends. The loud print is not something I would see a lot of people wear on the daily (not including bloggers or other fashion influencers) which is why I too was afraid of this new style but once again like any other crazy fashion piece there is always someway to make it work and either dress it up or dress it down depending on how you feel. I really do hope the leopard coat stays stylish throughout this year because I really want to join the bandwagon!
6. Sock booties (Velvet/Suede/Patent Leather/Snake Skin)
I know I mentioned velvet sock boots above but I just can’t get enough of the sock booties trend! It is definitely inspired by the Yeezy ankle/sock boots. I love this style of boot not only because they come in a variety of styles/textures/fabrics but also because they fit snugly around your ankle. They are definitely not like your average ankle boot.
7. Western belt
I am not a huge belt person. I don’t normally wear belts with my jeans, but occasionally I will wear them with shirts/dresses to cinch in at the waist. I have seen these styles of belts retail on websites like ASOS for way more than they are worth (in my opinion) and have also come across a great dupe that is on my shopping list (linked HERE). Adding accessories like a belt with interesting hardware can jazz up your outfit. My favorite way to style this belt (and the way I have seen it worn the most) is with a casual outfit such as a pair of denim with a simple shirt or sweater tucked into the denim to show the belt.
