Hello everyone! Today I will be sharing with you all my current favourite denim trends! As a fashion student I have been learning a lot about denim and even though I have always been a fan of denim, I never really knew the entire story behind creating denim (both the positives and negatives). After learning a lot about denim these past few months I have really began to appreciate denim so much more. Also, my style has began to change (a little). I am very interested in trying and experimenting with new trends and styles that I would normally shy away from. I own only a few of these new denim trends that I am writing about today but I am definitely planning on purchasing the rest of them in the future. Let’s get started!
1. Mom Jeans
Let’s start with the most simple denim trend: mom jeans. This trend is one that I never expected myself to love as much as I do. I personally love my super skinny jeans and never where any thing else but I have been loving the baggy-fit mom jeans. Unfortunately, I do not own a pair at the moment but I have been on the look out for them since the trend doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. If you’re also on the hunt for mom jeans I would recommend checking the thrift store as I have come across a few there (but they just weren’t my size).
2. Grazed Hem Denim
I absolutely love this trend because not only is it so subtle but it also adds a little character to your basic pair of jeans. I also love that the hem hits right above the ankle so there is no need for rolling up the ankle for extra cropping.
3. Uneven Hem Denim
This is also a quite subtle touch to a basic pair of denim but I absolutely love it! It also adds a little extra character to a basic pair of denim. I have two pairs of denim that have an uneven hem, but not one that is just a basic wash. If you’re interested in trying out this denim trend you can also DIY it! 4. Fringe Hem Denim
Now we are moving on to the more “out there” denim trends. The fringe hem is not going to be something everyone is interested in but there are different variations of this particular hem style that you can find to fit what your most comfortable with. I have a pair from Zara which I thrifted and they have a short fringe hem but they are not too crazy. I have seen some denim with much longer fringe which makes them much more noticeable and definitely a statement. One great thing about this trend is that it is once again super easy to re-create and if you’re unsure on how you feel about the trend you can DIY it yourself instead of purchasing a pair right away. 5. Embroidered Denim
One of my favourite trends right now has to be anything embroidered! I especially love the look of embroidered denim and have yet to find the perfect pair for myself. I love how much colour and print is added to a basic pair of jeans when there is some type of embroidery on them.
6. Two-Toned Denim
The two-toned denim trend is such a popular trend at the moment (especially with Hollywood celebrities). I have a pair from American Eagle which you can purchase HERE. They are a great dupe for a pair from FRAME Denim (which is the denim that celebs like Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner, and the Hadid sisters have been seen wearing). I also did an entire blog post about this dupe which you can read HERE. Anyways, this trend is once again not for everyone (especially not the average consumer). If you love fashion and you’re not afraid to try something new this is a great pair of denim to add to your wardrobe! I have gotten so many compliments on this particular pair of denim and did not expect to since they are very different.

7. Wide Leg Denim
This is one trend I never expected myself to like as much as I do. I have to give credit to all the fashion bloggers who have inspired me to try out this new trend. I personally do not like flared jeans so at first I was not a big fan of this trend, but after seeing it styled by many bloggers I began to really like it. The one thing I do have to say is that these jeans come in a culotte version as well which I personally really dislike but the regular flare is fine for me and something I would like to wear and style myself.
