Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette (Review + Swatches)

Hello everyone! In today’s blog post, I will be reviewing the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette! I absolutely love this palette, but my initial reaction when it first released was “it’s just another palette.” After watching countless YouTubers speak about this palette, I found myself adding this to my Sephora wishlist. This palette soon became the one and only thing I wanted from Sephora ASAP. Thankfully, my best friend actually purchased this for me for my birthday this past month. Before I opened my gift, a part of me thought maybe it was the palette, but I just rubbed it off because I never mentioned to her that I wanted this palette so she wouldn’t know. Lone and behold, it actually was this palette, and I was absolutely thrilled and could not control my excitement! Even though I have told her thank-you a million times, I wanted to say it once more in this blog post, so thank you to my bestie for this wonderful gift! Anyways, enough of me rambling, let’s get into the actual review!

Formula/Review/Swatches:
First things first, this palette is GORGEOUS! The colours in this palette are right up my alley; they are perfect for everyday with the neutrals and fun berry tones that add a beautiful pop of colour to any eye look. There are 8 matte shades and 6 shimmer shades in this palette, which totals to 14 shades. As I mentioned above, I wanted this palette very badly but for some odd reason, I never bothered to swatch the shadows (or any shadows by Anastasia Beverly Hills) while at Sephora. I have not tried, nor own many shadows by high-end brands except for Too Faced and Urban Decay and too be honest, they have not blown me away. When I swatched this palette’s eye shadows for the first time, I was shook! I actually screamed a little (not going to lie) and snapped my friends about how amazing these shadows were! The pigmentation of these shadows is actually insane and I am so incredibly happy that I finally have a highly pigmented eye shadow palette. Also, you should definitely use a light hand when dipping into the colours because you will get a lot of colour on your brush (you want to start off light and gradually build up the colour intensity as you go). There are two shades from the entire palette that are not as pigmented as the rest, and they are Golden Ochre and Venetian Red. These eye shadows also blend beautifully which is another reason everyone seems to adore this palette in particular. I would recommend this palette to everyone because it definitely “wowed” me and is a great palette for everyday natural looks and for a night out or special occasion. I believe it is currently out of stock on Sephora Canada but you can always check your local Sephora or wait for the palette to be back in stock, since it is not limited edition and won’t be leaving Sephora any time soon.

From Top to Bottom: Tempera, Golden Ochre, Vermeer, Buon Fresco, Antique Bronze, Love Letter, Cyprus Umber, Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, Primavera, Red Ochre, Venetian Red, Warm Taupe & Realgar
I hope you enjoyed today’s blog post! Let me know if you have tried this palette or if you plan on purchasing it in the future!

Until next time,
