Mixing and matching different textures, prints, and fits never felt more comfortable!
Hello loves! Today I will be sharing an outfit I recently wore to my college’s fashion show! When I first styled this look, I instantly thought of Milan Fashion Week street style. To be honest, I’m not too sure why I specifically thought of Milan as opposed to New York, London, or Paris street style but nonetheless I did. No matter the city this outfit just screamed FASHION WEEK to me because of the different textures, fits, and styling print on print. I normally wouldn’t have styled a look like this, but like I mentioned in my last post, I am trying to purchase items and style outfits with an open mind and reach for things I normally wouldn’t gravitate towards. With that being said, let me share all the deets of this outfit with you!
Let me start with what inspired this entire outfit, the wide leg faux leather pants and snakeskin knee-high boots. I came across the wide-leg faux leather pants when I was on my way to work and decided to stop by Forever 21 “just to take a look” (but let’s be honest, every time I say or think that I always walk out of any store with at least one thing. No regrets 🙈).These pants reminded me of a similar pair that I came across back in October that were also from Forever 21, which I never purchased. This was one of those items that I was unsure of because I normally wouldn’t gravitate towards a pair of wide leg (almost culotte type) pants, but I wanted to get out of my style comfort zone. I decided to try them on and I fell in love! These pants are definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love them and so do a lot of my fashion-forward friends. They were available in a brown and eggplant shade, but I decided to opt for the brown because I knew I would get more wear out of them with everything I already own in my wardrobe (even though I low key wanted to buy the other pair too haha!).
I always see fashion influencers pair wide leg pants (be it denim, or any wide leg trouser or culotte) with over the knee boots (or any boot that has a higher shaft) so, I figured I would try it out by pairing my favourite snakeskin knee high boots from Zara with my leather pants and voila! They make the perfect duo! The brown snakeskin print goes well with the brown leather pants. If you’re obsessed with these boots like myself, I would like to warn you that although they are absolutely stunning and my favourite pair in my shoe collection, they are also the most painful pair of boots I own. If you can wear 3.5 + inch heels then I would suggest purchasing these but if not, you might want to stray away. Now you might be thinking, why would I purchase them if they were painful well, they were too beautiful to pass up and I was thinking about them for months so I couldn’t give them up. You know what they say, fashion is pain!

After pairing the pants with the boots I thought to myself “what could I wear for my top?”. Now, I would normally wear something a little more minimal like a basic black tee or turtleneck with this look, but I figured I’d try and mix it up by wearing print on print. In the end, I opted for my snakeskin long-sleeved mock neck from AliExpress. I still felt like the outfit wasn’t complete and I really wanted to try layering with this look because I find that layering really helps any outfit (be it a simple white tee and denim or something like the outfit I am wearing here) look put together, fashion-forward, and stylish. With that being said, I added my somewhat oversized trench coat that I thrifted (originally from Liz Claiborne). I think adding the trench really tied the whole look together by bringing out the beige in my top and boots and playing with different styles of “fit” (my shirt being fitted, pants wide leg, and trench fitted yet oversized).
To complete the look, I added a few accessories including my Gucci belt (read my review HERE), my favourite sunnies from Forever 21, a black leather tote from Ralph Lauren (any “nice” black bag would look good with this ‘fit), and a gold chain that I took off from one of my Topshop belts (I wanted to wear a chain while still being able to rock my Gucci belt).
That’s it for today’s blog post! Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!
Until next time,
