What I Wore to Toronto Fashion Week! (Fashion Week Outfit Inspiration)

This week has three days… and here’s what I wore on day one. #TorontoFashionWeek

Hello loves! Today, I’m sharing all the deets on the outfit I wore to the Tome show at Toronto Fashion Week *fangirling.* I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Tome show thanks to Infuse Humber and Toronto Fashion Week. It was truly a beautiful show, and you can read all about my experience on InfuseHumber’s website.

Now, moving on to the outfit and how I styled myself for the show. I had originally planned on wearing a pantsuit I got from Zara last fall but I was a little unsure if a professional-chic-girl boss outfit was what I really wanted to go for when it came to fashion week. I mean, fashion week is all about having fun, experimenting with fashion, and stepping out of your comfort zone. The little voice inside of my head kept telling me to find a new outfit but I could not find anything else in my closet to wear to the show. Luckily, just a few days prior, I hit up the mall with one of my friends and we stopped by H&M. Not going to lie, I don’t normally shop there anymore because I don’t always find things that I like, but every once in a while, I do pop in just to “window shop” and end up finding and buying some great pieces. This trip to the store was one of those “window shopping” trips where I told myself I wasn’t going to buy anything but then I walked out with an entire outfit (well, almost an entire outfit).

The skirt was actually the first thing that my friend found in the sale section. She thought it was on sale for $5 (it was actually $25) and I thought I had read the same price so I thought “why not try it on”. Then, we came across a funky, fuzzy, zebra-printed sweater that I absolutely fell in love with. When I looked at the two pieces together, I knew they were going to make a great outfit.

After trying on the outfit, falling in love, convincing myself that I absolutely NEEDED the outfit for Toronto Fashion Week, and lots of laughs courtesy of my good friend, I decided to hold on to the outfit because I just could not let go.

Walking out of the fitting rooms, we stopped to look at the accessories and lo and behold, I found a bright orange mini handbag inspired by Jacquemus. I held it up next to the sweater and skirt and that’s when I knew I really did have a fashion talent (haha well not really but sort of). The bright orange against the muted teal skirt and the black and white sweater was the perfect combo. I did not walk out with the handbag because I had actually forgotten about it but I did get a discount on the sweater and skirt thanks to another friend of mine who just so happened to be working while I was shopping.

Later that evening, I remembered that I had wanted the orange mini bag so it could complete my fashion week look so I decided to head on over to another H&M the day after and purchase it.

As for the rest of the outfit, I wore my black and white snakeskin printed ankle boots from AliExpress (I wanted to wear a pair of white ankle boots I have from Forever 21 but they are very painful), my Gucci belt, leggings from Gap, earrings from Freedom Jewelry (click HERE to read all about my favourite jewelry brand – Freedom), and a pair of sunglasses from Forever 21.

That’s it for today’s blog post! Thank you for taking the time to read and check out my blog.

Until next time,
