Seven Beauty Products You Need to Try Right Now

Beauty products actually worth the hype.

Hello loves! Today, I’m sharing seven beauty products that I’ve been loving recently and that I think are worth the hype. If you haven’t already tried these products out or even heard of them for that matter, I highly recommend that you test them out and purchase them. Without further ado, in no particular order, let’s get into my seven current favourite beauty products!

  1. Morphe false eyelashes in the style “Hypnotic”

I’ve used many false lashes over the years and there are a lot of them that I love (for example, the Ardell demi whispies), but most of the lashes that I love are on the “natural” side. As much as I love them and love doubling them up to make them more dramatic, I didn’t find a dramatic, wispy lash that I loved until I tried the Morphe lashes in the style “Hypnotic.” I tried these lashes out because they were recommended to me by one of my coworkers who always does the nicest makeup and her lashes just complete her makeup looks. There were a few styles that she suggested but I ended up finding the “Hypnotic” pair which really caught my eye. I love wispy, dramatic lashes so this pair was totally up my alley. I have worn them many times and every time I wear them, I fall in love with them even more. They are also decently priced coming at $16. I purchased mine from the Morphe store, but you can also purchase them on their website or any other beauty store that carries Morphe.

2. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

I received the full size of this product when I visited The Kit Connect Conference last year. I was so excited when I pulled the full-size out of the free goodie bag because I have heard beauty gurus rave about this product on YouTube for so long. I could never get myself to purchase this product because it’s so expensive (the travel size alone is $30). I thought it was just another product that everyone hyped up about and wasn’t that special, but boy was I wrong. This powder deserves all the hype it gets. The first time I used it, I fell in love. It is very finely milled and when you apply it, it feels so incredibly smooth and soft, and it sets your makeup beautifully. This has officially become my go-to powder and despite the hefty price tag, I will definitely be purchasing it when I run out. You can purchase both the travel size and full size ($51) at Sephora or on Laura Mercier’s website.

3. Kat Von D Lock It Makeup Setting Mist

I have been wanting to try this setting spray for years but never got around to purchasing it. I didn’t know if I would like it so I purchased the travel size from Sephora for $20. This setting spray makes my makeup last longer than when I don’t use it. I am almost out of this product and I think it’s safe to say that I love it and will be re-purchasing the full-size very soon. This setting spray along with the Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder sets my makeup beautifully and makes it last all day long. You can purchase both the travel and full sizes at Sephora or on the Kat Von D Beauty website.

4. Mac Cosmetics lipsticks in the shades “Taupe” and “Velvet Teddy”

I have been using the Mac lipstick in the shade “Velvet Teddy” for a long time and have repurchased it several times. It is my go-to perfect nude lipstick. What I love about it is that it’s a perfect blend of nude-pink. I personally can’t wear full nude lipsticks because they don’t work with my skin tone but this shade in particular gives me that nude lipstick look. It’s one of those “your lips but better” shades. You can purchase this lipstick from Mac Cosmetics for $24 or any retailer that sells Mac Cosmetics.

I’ve had the Mac lipstick in the shade “Taupe” for quite some time now. When I first purchased it, I loved it but then I fell more in love with “Velvet Teddy” and decided that I didn’t like the “Taupe” shade at all. A couple of months ago, I started wearing it again and have fallen back in love with the shade, especially for the fall/winter season. I have recently found myself reaching for this shade more often than “Velvet Teddy” which is quite shocking for me. Once again, you can purchase this lipstick from Mac Cosmetics for $24 or any retailer that sells Mac Cosmetics.

Both of these shades are great and I highly recommend trying one or both of them out if you haven’t already.

5. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

This is another one of those hyped-up products in the beauty community on the internet, be it Instagram or YouTube. Of course, as usual, I got sucked into purchasing it. I had to know whether or not this product was actually as great as everyone said it was, and I have to admit, it really is. This lip mask makes my lips so smooth. It’s marketed as a lip mask that you use at night but I also like using it as my lip balm during the day. A lot of product comes in what seems like a small jar and not to mention, it smells delicious. I’m definitely re-purchasing this baby when I run out of it and would recommend trying it for yourselves! I purchased mine from Sephora for $26 however, it is also available to purchase on the Laneige website.

6. Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother

I was introduced to this Olaplex Bond smoother by my hair stylist back in October. She used it in my hair while she was styling it and I was shocked by the result. I have very frizzy hair and it cannot be tamed which is kind of funny but also really hard to deal with. This product is a leave-in reparative styling cream which claims to “eliminate frizz, hydrate and protect” your hair and honestly, it does all of that. I use this product after blow drying my hair and after styling it and it really smoothes down my hair and the frizz, helps with holding curls, and has a unique scent that I can’t quite pinpoint, but I love it. I usually use about a dime or quarter size amount depending on how crazy my hair is. It works amazing and I highly recommend trying it out if your hair is very dry and frizzy. It retails for $38 at Sephora which is definitely a little pricey, but you can always get a sample of it to try out at home which is what I did before purchasing the full-size.

7. Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Eau de Parfum

Okay, I’m just now realizing that this last product is yet again one that I tried and has been raved about on YouTube for years. I’ll be honest, if it weren’t for my sister, I probably wouldn’t have ever tried this perfume. I’m not really a perfume/fragrance kind of girl and I honestly just thought that this was another overrated product that YouTubers talked about but I was wrong. I’m terrible at explaining scents but from what I read online, the Bombshell scent is the perfect mix of fruity and floral with notes of purple passion fruit, Shangri-la peony, and vanilla orchid. I wear this perfume almost every day and have received many compliments on it. It is definitely one of my favourites and most used fragrances in my collection. You can purchase the travel size from Victoria’s Secret for $18 or the full size for $78. I would recommend trying this scent out next time you’re at Victoria’s Secret. You will not be disappointed!

That’s all for today’s blog post! Thanks for taking the time to read and check out my blog!

Until next time,
